We are a cross-party, grassroots campaign group whose aim is to stop the worst effects of Brexit, to promote European-values and to encourage cultural exchange in Swindon. In the longer term, we would like to help new-Europeanism to flourish in Swindon and for us to work towards a much closer relationship with our friends and allies on the continent.
We are passionate Europeans. We believe that as a European nation, the UK should be at the heart of Europe, culturally, economically and politically. Our eventual aim is for the UK to retake its rightful place at the top table of the EU. We must continue to work together with our European neighbours to secure peace and security in Europe and tackle borderless issues such as the environment. We also believe the UK, and Swindon, in particular, has benefitted greatly from the exchange of trade, skills, knowledge and investment whilst in the EU.
Currently, we are primarily focused on:
- Street protests and events to raise awareness of pro-European issues, such as the potential lowering of food standards in the trade deal with the USA
- Letter writing to local MPs and Councillors to ensure Swindon has a plan for dealing with the worst outcomes of Brexit (if the transition ends without a deal having been struck)
- Discussion of pro-European and anti-Brexit topics on our Facebook campaign page, and generally supporting our members through these turbulent times.
Past Actions
Kill the Bill (anti-“police and crime bill” protest) outside Robert Buckland’s office, 2020-03-21. Socially distanced and covid-safe.
Handing out settled status leaflets on Manchester road in Swindon, 2020-03-30. We had a great response from the members of the community we talked to and continued to hand out leaflets in all the shops we could find on that street for the following week.
People on the street of most political leanings agree with us.

The opening session of our Euro Cafe was full to bursting! What a great chance to bring people together, to talk about what we love about Europe and to also put people in contact with those who can help them with Settle Status applications (https://settled.org.uk/en/)
